I would like to say when life gives you lemons…(fill in the blank), but it seems to undermine the past year pilgrimage that I have experienced. If it is meant to be, it will be. To realize I don’t know enough is not merely a feat, as some would say, for me it is a reason to keep going. I can only be responsible for my own choices and my own comprehension of life and so I am and I will. Contrarily, I will not be responsible for outcomes that were not of my own conscious mind. I cannot live in a rotted mind that would take on that obligation.

So, here I am pursuing an otherwise unrealistic goal for a 27 year old….nevertheless, that is me and this is my life. I am setting my sights for fabulous things, for a dream that I have always cherished, for a skill that I have only begun to hone. The only absolute approach to my craving is to become a Doctor of Osteopathy. I will take you with me on this perilous flight of twists and turns, I hope we all come out the other end with a better understanding and a better acceptance of our own personal adventure. Oh how I pray that I my body can handle the route my brain has chosen.

For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge fan of Pregnancy Massage and everything that goes with having a baby! I have had a lot of fun gearing my business towards helping women during this incredible journey. I had an unbelievable experience in December. I was blessed to have the opportunity to be at the labor and delivery of a close friend of mine’s baby boy. He was born at home healthy and ready to face the world.

I learned a lot from this experience. It taught me of life and the miracle of all the little pieces that fit in the mix. I already knew that I had a passion for Pregnancy Massage but I didn’t know that my passion goes even deeper than that. I felt so alive and invigorated by the experience that I have decided, I would like to do it again. It’s amazing the direction your mind goes in only to have your body follow the movements already in play. I am so thankful to my friend and her family for allowing me to be apart of this amazing night. I am on my way to becoming a certified Doula so that I can provide massage and other assistance during labor and deliveries.

I needed to take a moment and tell you all how grateful I am for you. I recently had the opportunity to walk the Breast Cancer 3 Day 60 miler! It was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed my journey so much. As some of you know, I had to raise $2300 to participate in this event. I had to do a couple of fundraising events to come up  with all the necessary donations. Alot of my friends, family and clients helped me to reach my goal and I am very grateful to everybody. I also received quite a few letters of encouragement while camping out with the other men and women who did the walk. The letters gave me just enough motivation to keep going the next day.

It was amazing to cross streets in Pinellas County and have people honking and shouting encouraging words for all of us to hear. There were families with children that would drive around and cheer on the walkers all day long.  The people were amazing; it made the experience easier when others were cheering for us. There were many people who thanked us for all that we were doing for them and their families. So now, I would like to thank all of you. We all have hope that our kids won’t have to walk the 3 day, let alone fight cancer. I appreciate everyone for their support and love. I couldn’t have done it without you all!!

This past year has been incredible for me. I feel like I have received so many blessings and have so much to be grateful for. I need something to give back; something to help in any way I can. There are plenty people out there that have had less fortune than I.

To sum it up, I have decided to do the Breast Cancer 3 Day. Many of you have heard of this event. It is a 60 mile walk over the course of 3 days. I will be walking with some other Massage Therapists and hopefully enjoying every minute of it (I’m sure I will). We will be camping out every night in a tent and walking at the break of dawn.

I have to raise enough money to do the walk though. Keep your eyes open as I am going to do some fundraising periodically to try and come up with the money. Getting ready for the Natural Birth and Baby Expo!!

Hello everybody. I don’t know if you have heard but the Tampa Bay Birth Network is putting on an Expo this Saturday. I am a proud member of the group and will be a sponsoring vendor at the Expo. I will also be speaking on the Myths of Pregnancy Massage. I am really excited. For all the pregnant women out there, this would be a good opportunity to learn about other modalities. There will be professionals from Pregnancy Photography to Doulas to Childbirth Educators. It should be very informative for everybody.
