I had the chance to buy some and try it out about three weeks ago. I can honestly say that I have noticed a difference in my life. I have more energy and I have had faster muscle recovery after working out.  These are just short term benefits. For those of you who don’t know, I am a huge fan of Pregnancy Massage and everything that goes with having a baby! I have had a lot of fun gearing my business towards helping women during this incredible journey. I had an unbelievable experience in December. I was blessed to have the opportunity to be at the labor and delivery of a close friend of mine’s baby boy. He was born at home healthy and ready to face the world.

I learned a lot from this experience. It taught me of life and the miracle of all the little pieces that fit in the mix. I already knew that I had a passion for Pregnancy Massage but I didn’t know that my passion goes even deeper than that. I felt so alive and invigorated by the experience that I have decided, I would like to do it again. It’s amazing the direction your mind goes in only to have your body follow the movements already in play. I am so thankful to my friend and her family for allowing me to be apart of this amazing night. I am on my way to becoming a certified Doula so that I can provide massage and other assistance during labor and deliveries.

I needed to take a moment and tell you all how grateful I am for you. I recently had the opportunity to walk the Breast Cancer 3 Day 60 miler! It was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed my journey so much. As some of you know, I had to raise $2300 to participate in this event. I had to do a couple of fundraising events to come up  with all the necessary donations. Alot of my friends, family and clients helped me to reach my goal and I am very grateful to everybody. I also received quite a few letters of encouragement while camping out with the other men and women who did the walk. The letters gave me just enough motivation to keep going the next day.

It was amazing to cross streets in Pinellas County and have people honking and shouting encouraging words for all of us to hear. There were families with children that would drive around and cheer on the walkers all day long.  The people were amazing; it made the experience easier when others were cheering for us. There were many people who thanked us for all that we were doing for them and their families. So now, I would like to thank all of you. We all have hope that our kids won’t have to walk the 3 day, let alone fight cancer. I appreciate everyone for their support and love. I couldn’t have done it without you all!!

This past year has been incredible for me. I feel like I have received so many blessings and have so much to be grateful for. I need something to give back; something to help in any way I can. There are plenty people out there that have had less fortune than I.

To sum it up, I have decided to do the Breast Cancer 3 Day. Many of you have heard of this event. It is a 60 mile walk over the course of 3 days. I will be walking with some other Massage Therapists and hopefully enjoying every minute of it (I’m sure I will). We will be camping out every night in a tent and walking at the break of dawn.

I have to raise enough money to do the walk though. Keep your eyes open as I am going to do some fundraising periodically to try and come up with the money. I’m going to need some extra motivation to get in shape for this one!!

Getting ready for the Natural Birth and Baby Expo!!

Hello everybody. I don’t know if you have heard but the Tampa Bay Birth Network is putting on an Expo this Saturday. I am a proud member of the group and will be a sponsoring vendor at the Expo. I will also be speaking on the Myths of Pregnancy Massage. I am really excited. For all the pregnant women out there, this would be a good opportunity to learn about other modalities. There will be professionals from Pregnancy Photography to Doulas to Childbirth Educators. It should be very informative for everybody.

This is the first ever Expo that the Tampa Bay Birth Network has ever put on. There will be a raffle, nursing area, snacks, activities and a playground right outside the Expo. I will also be giving out coupons for pregnancy massage and Mama Mio products. I will have a limited amount of Mama Mio products to hand out to the Mothers-to Be. See you there!!

On the show, I announced a special for a one hour pregnancy massage session for just $55. Which is $20 off and an excellent deal. Hello clients. I have recently started incorporating a lot more essential oils to my massage. I would invite you to try some of these special blends for an additional benefit that would supplement any massage. Currently I have a Lavender, Eucalyptus and Rosemary Orange. 

Lavender has been known for its relaxing properties. It is a light, fresh and homey aroma. Some of the benefits of this essential oil are revitalizing the body, boosting the immune system and reduce stress. It is also safe for pregnant women.

Eucalyptus has many benefits. It is an antiviral an antineuralgic and assists in relieving pain of stiff sore muscles. It is a minty camphor aroma and is very refreshing to the senses. 

Rosemary Orange is a blend that I find very delightful. Both of these essential oils are anti-depressants. The Rosemary is very refreshing and has a slight spice to it. While the Orange is citrusy and clean.
